ASSIGNMENTS

  • The "Invent your own writing technology" assignment--The idea behind this assignment was simple: Make up your own writing technology, without using normal modern day (or not-so modern even) writing tools (such as pens, papers, paint, ink, etc.). Then, the crux of the assignment lied in writing a 500 word or so essay giving thoughts about the assignment. I chose, as my technology, etching a message on a styrofoam plate with my fingernail.
  • The "Style Blog Writing" assignment--after the assignments for our blog (see link below), we had to then use what we learned through the assignment to write an essay detailing what, in our opinion, constituted writing style as a whole. It's a lot trickier than you'd think.
  • My Blog.--There were many assignments used as a reason to post to our individual Blogs in class, culminating in the above assignment. In each blog, I try to explain what the actual question of the day was.
  • The "Cyberculture" essay The assignment was to think of a part of today's cyberculture that has affected writing, and to discuss it. I chose to write about the phenomena of e-publishing.
  • The "collaborative website" assignment.--In which I and three others persevered to review websites of a similar topic (in our case, writer Stephen King,) based on common criteria!
  • The updates to this page in detail--For the class, an essay had to be written, and posted, detailing what changes we made to our website since the intial, horrifyingly simple days of yore.
