Activity 3

You have the rest of the workshop period to focus on your goal of creating a sample WebQuest and have specific tasks to do this. You will present what you have learned at the end of the session. Complete the steps on this page first, then use the buttons above to go on to the next activity. This first activity will take about a half-hour. Remember that your real goal is to develop lessons that will help your students learn!

I. What is a WebQuest?

You should form three to four member teams so you can work together on this process. Once you have your study partners, you are ready to explore WebQuests. You can work on a single computer together, or work at separate computers and share your ideas.

To get started, move on to task 2.

Now that you have selected a team, you will spend a short time examining an actual Webquest together. You don't need to complete all the activities in detail, but do go through the steps so you can see how this is put together. Take a look at the following WebQuest to see an example developed for middle school. Spend about 15-20 minutes examining the site.

The Middle School WebQuest

Be prepared to share your insights with the other teams in a full group discussion.
