Outcome 4.3

INFORMATION ACCESS AND DELIVERY.

Candidates will implement information access and delivery resources in K-12 schools to support the curriculum.

4.3.1         identify and use information access and telecommunication tools to support research and instruction throughout the curriculum.

WHAT I DID TO ACCOMPLISH THIS: I produced lessons with my technology classes at school where they learned techniques how to use search engines for research. Lessons also included WebQuests, Scholastic.com's MathHunts, and sites that I check out before hand for age appropriateness.

Research on tornadoes, states, cities in Michigan, and famous African-Americans.

4.3.2         use and implement distance learning delivery systems including computer, audio, and video conferencing.

WHAT I DID TO ACCOMPLISH THIS: EDMT courses have threaded discussions where the students reply to a question or idea and they give feedback to what other students have posted. There is also the on-line chat site at each course page that students are encouraged to use.

Threaded discussions and chat pages on EDMT on-line course sites.

Participated in a Webinar while training on the use of United Streaming website.

4.3.3         create multimedia presentations using advanced features of a presentation tool and deliver them using computer projection systems.

WHAT I DID TO ACCOMPLISH THIS: Produced a digital video to demonstrate proper news broadcast presentation.

4.3.4         install, configure, and use local mass storage devices and media to store and retrieve information and resources.

WHAT I DID TO ACCOMPLISH THIS: I use flash drives, Zip disk drives, local network folders, and online file storage site.

LIST OF ACTIVITIES THAT SUPPORT MY NARRATIVE:

Students in my computer classes saved their work in their folder or in the class folder on the shared drive.

At the end of the school year I saved my files and media at web-a-file, an online storage site.

I save the HOSTS student data on both the shared folder on the school's network and on a Zip disk.

4.3.5         describe issues related to selecting, installing, and maintaining WANs for school districts.
