Excel (Spreadsheet)


Cd Store

Cd store offers the students a classic example in how
book stores and cd stores calculate the total of sales by
using excel or another similar spreadsheet. This a good
exercise where the students have to calculate different
statements by using the excel functions as well building
a graph that shows the important objectives.



Commodities

Bulk goods such as grains, metals, livestock, oil, cotton, coffee, sugar and cocoa. They can either be sold on the spot market for immediate delivery or on the commodities exchanges for later delivery. Trade on the exchanges is in the form of futures contracts. Commodities are often viewed as a hedge against inflation because their price rises with the consumer price index (CPI).
Students learn a little bit about commodities and learn how to represent these goods by using excel.

All Time Box Office

This project talks about the cumulative gross of some of the
most popular movies in the United States. Students learn how to apply the different functions such as sum, sort ascending, average, median, maximum, minimum, etc.


US Presidential Election 2004

This project helps the student to understand how the Electoral College works. It allows the student to compare information by different concepts such as popular and electoral votes.




Olympic Games

Olympic Games offers the students a great opportunity to use some of the statistical functions in excel. Students will calculate the sum of individuals, the average and the median.



Converter

This assignment helps the students in making conversions
between Celsius and Fahrenheit degrees by using the excel operators.
