While the web page is all about the author Edgar Allen Poe, it is a link from the main home page www.enotes.com.  This home page contains many links to popular authors and their works.  It is the www.allpoe.com link that our main focus is on. There is a consistent look and feel throughout the web site. The site uses a web-type structure that poses few restrictions on the pattern of information use.  It allows users to follow their interests in a unique pattern.   The site uses explicit addressing to navigate through the site so that the user knows exactly where they are going at all times as well as making the site usable for anybody who disables images.  This is a site geared more towards students seeking information on Poe and his works, ideas for papers or even shortcuts to writing papers.

The content of the site is excellent if you can afford to purchase all of the information.  It contains an informative biography on the author, which can be printed for free, with a printer friendly option.  Links to samples of selected essays and criticism are available with an option to buy if one of the works strikes your interest. There is also a link that contains study guides for the teacher and student that are available for purchase.   The site also gives a history of how E-notes came into being, contact information as well as backgrounds on the authors of the articles.   Since E-notes is trying to make money there is not an option of outside links for the user.

There are links on each page that are helpful when navigating throughout the site.  I found only one link that was not functioning.  Since most of the information is brief and contained in one page there are not many links to home at the bottom of the pages.

For those of us who are not quite sure how to site these types of web pages when writing a resource page, there is a link that gives examples using this site as the source.  Instead of purchasing each essay individually a pass for all can be purchased for 30 dollars, not bad considering all of the works that were discussed.

Overall www.allpoe.com earned a *** star rating.
