Poe’s Virtual Library   4 stars

            After reviewing this site, I would have to say it is nothing less than awesome; that is if you’re like me—a true Poe fan.  This site has everything Poe: from poetry to audio, and even beer (yes, beer!).

            The design of the site was actually quite interesting, but also professional.  It was very dark, which gave the site a sort of brooding feel—just like the man himself!  I was at once struck by the home page’s initial appearance, because dark colors are exactly what we were taught to stay clear of when designing our own websites (see spiderpro).  But somehow the dark look works for this site.  The text is white so it shows up nicely—it is actually quite enjoyable and easy to read.

            The site is very user friendly.  Everything is clearly labeled and marked.  You don’t have to do a lot of extra steps to go where you want to go within the site.  All the information the site offers is easy to locate—even I didn’t have any trouble checking it all out.

            And of course the links this site offers are truly amazing: pages and pages of anything and everything having to do with Edgar Allen Poe.  They even have international sites!  Now how cool is that?

            This site had some other neat items as well.  Things you can purchase, newsgroups, chat rooms, societies you could join, clothing, and of course the complete works of the great Edgar Allen Poe.  Don’t forget to check this must see out!
