After a Roccoco era coffee table sized sculpture by Clodion. Still needs a little work. I'm thinking of leaving the dark over light muscle shadings unblended in the manner of Manet, who brought his watercolor background to his oil paintings and became known as the father of modern art.
Comparison of the dunes with the paintings of William Merritt Chase suggests that the locale of this scene is somewhere on Long Island Sound.
