Folklores around the World

Directions: Before you begin to write your folklore drama, you are going to research folklore stories from around the world. In the following assignment you will see there are websites that will connect you to folklore stories for North America, South America, Africa, Europe, Asia, and Australia. For each one of the continents, you will need to choose one of the folklore stories you read (or listen to) on the “websites to visit” to further analyze. To analyze the story you will need to write the name of the story, country of origin, setting, main characters, 5 folklore aspects, and a 10 sentence summary.  Use the notes about folklore aspects we wrote together as class to help you. Don’t forget to mark your map as you work through each continent! After your research is completed you will use your favorite story to help you and your teammates write a folklore drama (play) to present to the class. Have fun!
