COMING SPRING 2007

iDREAM Productions and director Matias E. Margulis proudly present the documentary film, Make Goals Not War.

Can you imagine a future where all international conflicts are solved on the soccer field?

Make Goals Not War follows the journey of a young man, Maty Campeonisimo, to the 2006 World Cup in Germany. Campeonisimo, who was born in Argentina but transplanted at an early age to ice hockey-crazed Canada, carries a deep passion for the sport of his birthplace.

Campeonisimo's life-long dream to attend the World Cup; a dream inspired by his fond childhood memories of Argentina's home victory in 1978. In the summer of 2006 this dream finally comes true. However, Campeonisimo’s journey to the World Cup is also driven by a deep belief that soccer, the most universal game, has the potential to unite people and enable them to overcome their differences.

In Germany, Campeonisimo launches a grassroots campaign and hits the streets asking fans to support his petition to ban war and resolve international conflicts with soccer matches. Campeonisimo soon garners not only the support of thousands of soccer fans but also players and teams.

His distinctive soccer uniform and imaginative proposal catches the imagination of the international media and the World Cup community. Campeonisimo’s efforts earn him the meetings with the FIFA President Joseph "Sepp" Blatter and UN Secretary General Kofi Annan.

What starts as one man's passion for the game and hope for peace, transforms into a global movement.

Make Goals Not War is more than a story about the World Cup and Maty Campeonsimo's incredible adventure. The film also seeks to show audiences the universality of soccer, and recognizes the unique ability of one game to bring together people of diverse nationalities, ethnicities, races, gender and faith. Make Goals Not War informs audiences about the human cost of war and the role of the United Nations in preventing international conflict, and hopes to inspire them to build a better and more peaceful future.
