Grading Policies

If you have a question about a grade, see the professor during 
office hours.

Grades will be based on:
	30% homework assignments
	20% lab assignments
	5% lecture quizzes (given the first 5 minutes of class - no makeup)
	45% exams (3) (all are cumulative)
final exam is an optional retake of ONE of the other exams.

Exams and quizzes are given in the class room during class time.
Exams and quizzes are closed notes, closed book, open mind.

Everything is graded on a straight scale
	 > 96 A+, 92-96 A, 90-91 A-
	87-89 B+, 82-86 B, 80-81 B-
	77-79 C+, 72-76 C, 70-71 C-
	67-69 D+, 62-66 D, 60-61 D-

Programming assignment grading strategy
	50% style - commenting, formatting, documentation, etc.
	50% code - well designed, well written, running program 
		that satisfies the program specifications

Late Policy
	You have 3 late passes for illnesses, emergencies, etc. 
	When your late passes are used up, late assignments get 
	0 points. A late pass means you can hand the assignment in
	up to 1 week late without any loss of points. Late passes
	cannot be used on assignments due the last 2 days of class.

Cheating, copying, etc.
	Any assignment that looks like it was copied, 
	in whole or in part, from another student, 
	a program on the web, etc. will receive a 0.
