Dr. Kattelus teaches undergraduate and graduate courses
primarily in the areas of government and nonprofit accounting. She has also
taught extensively in the financial accounting and taxation areas.

Short Biography
Dr.
Kattelus’ research is primarily in the areas of governmental and nonprofit
accounting and has been published in The
Accounting Review, Issues in
Accounting Education, Research in
Governmental and Nonprofit Accounting, and others. Professor Kattelus has
been President of the Government and Nonprofit Section of the American
Accounting Association, AAA representative to the Government Accounting
Standards Board Advisory Committee (GASAC), and chair of the Michigan
Association of CPA’s Nonprofit Committee. She frequently presents at
professional conferences. Dr. Kattelus has been an active member of the
University’s Charter School Committee from its inception in 1996 and head
of the Department of Accounting and Finance from 2002 to 2008.
