My name is Shawn Quilter and I am currently the associate dean for academic accountability and teacher certification officer at Eastern Michigan University. My two major responsibilities include: 1) supervision of the staff and operations of the Office of Academic Services, and 2) coordination of efforts to maintain state and national accreditation for programs associated with the College of Education. I have held my current position since May 2006.
From 1996 through 2002 I was a faculty member (assistant professor then associate professor) in the Department of Teacher Education. My faculty appointment is held in the area of educational psychology. When I teach, I teach courses in educational assessment, evaluation, research and statistics to teachers and other human services professionals. From 2002 through 2006 I served as assistant dean in the College of Education.

It is my privilege to be associated with Eastern Michigan University. EMU prepares new teachers who are caring, professional educators for our diverse and democratic society. At the graduate level, we endeavor to prepare teachers and other education professionals who are involved in inquiry, advocacy and leadership for our diverse and democratic society.
