The College of Arts and Sciences at Eastern Michigan University has as its mission the intellectual growth and the pursuit of excellence in the study and enhancement of the arts and humanities, mathematics, and the social and natural sciences.

The department is located in the College of Arts and Sciences and strives to provide students a broad education centered on computer science and delivered in the context of the liberal arts.
