Patricia A. Pokay, Ph.D.

A Little About Me

I grew up in Detroit, Michigan; received my BA from Western Michigan University, my MA from Eastern Michigan University, and my Ph.D. from The University of Michigan where I studied gender, motivation, and strategy use in geometry classes.

I was a high school teacher for many years - I taught math, started a psychology program, and, like most high school teachers, took part in many extracurriculur activities! I coached girls' softball and sponsored several clubs, including the ski club and the backpacking club.

Presently, I'm on the Educatoinal Psychology faculty in Teacher Education.  I teach courses in classroom assessment, research techniques and a variety of courses related to motivation and learning.
